The July 13th, 2023 meeting of the Austin Adobe User Group features a demonstration of animating techniques using Premier Pro to produce an engaging short custom social media message.
During this presentation, Jon Merrifield demonstrates keyframing and animation as well as track mattes in Premiere Pro. He also describes creating and using Mogrt templates straight from Premiere as well as the best way to utilize and reverse, etc. He then creates an engaging 15-second motion graphic style social media piece utilizing these techniques in Premiere Pro. (He brings in PSD and AI files yet it is a different result and not as integrated as in After Effects)
About the Presenter
Merrifield is a creative media professional with core skills in visual effects compositing and motion graphics. Jon operates a post and visual effects boutique, Peli Studio, based in Austin with global clientele, working on over 1,000 commercials, 100 music videos, 10 feature films, and a plethora of broadcast design projects. In addition to his creative film and design endeavors, Jon also has contracts with several high-end tech companies such as Salesforce to create social and promotional episodic media. Jon also is currently a trainer and consultant in After Effects and Premiere Pro at Lumenbrite, an international Adobe training company.
