Working with Audio Files

Austin Adobe User Group, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, gave a free demonstration of using Adobe software to work creatively with audio files.  Detailed descriptions explain audio file formats and common repairs as well as mixing techniques utilizing both Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere Pro.

In his presentation, Jon Merrifield demonstrates different types of commonly recorded audio files. He recommends the best ways to deal with them when there is only one channel and other common issues. Jon shares a great way to create a “scratch track” voiceover directly in Premiere Pro for your video editing projects.  He walks us through all the repair tools and also discusses some frequency and compression techniques you may use in a final mix of the audio for your project.
