Austin Adobe User Group, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, gave a free demonstration of using Adobe software to work creatively with audio files. Detailed descriptions explain audio file formats and common repairs as well as mixing techniques utilizing both Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere Pro.
In his presentation, Jon Merrifield demonstrates different types of commonly recorded audio files. He recommends the best ways to deal with them when there is only one channel and other common issues. Jon shares a great way to create a “scratch track” voiceover directly in Premiere Pro for your video editing projects. He walks us through all the repair tools and also discusses some frequency and compression techniques you may use in a final mix of the audio for your project.
About the Presenter
Merrifield is a creative media professional with core skills in visual effects compositing and motion graphics as well as key experience as an editor. Jon operates a post-production and visual effects boutique, Peli Studio, based in Austin with global clientele, working on over 1,000 commercials, 100 music videos, 10 feature films, and a plethora of broadcast design projects. In addition to his creative film and design endeavors, Jon also has contracts with several high-end tech companies such as Salesforce to create social and promotional episodic media. Jon also is currently a trainer and consultant in After Effects and Premiere Pro at Lumenbrite, an international Adobe training company.
