Instead of learning how to program in a native mobile app language (e.g., Java for Android or Swift for iOS), you can create simple apps using standard web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, and Javascript). In 2015, designer Frances Berriman and Google Chrome engineer Alex Russell coined the phrase Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) to describe this new trend.

About the presenter
Cornelius Chopin is an Accessibility Coordinator at Texas Health and Human Services. He received an Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI) title in Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver and teaches at night at several schools including the Art Institute of Austin. He completed his Master degree in Information Science and Learning Technologies (ISLT) from the Missouri University in December 2012 with emphasis on E-learning and Mobile Application development.
