During this meeting we’ll take a look at Adobe’s apps for mobile devices. There are more than 12 of them, but we’ll take a look at these 12. Some of them we’ll only describe and take a glance at; others we’ll spend more time on. If there’s something specific you’d like to see, or specific questions you have, post them to the group or on our Facebook page.
Except as noted below, all of the apps are available for iOS and Android. All of them are free, and do not require a Creative Cloud subscription. If you do have an Adobe CC subscription though, you’re able to do more with them. Listed alphabetically:
Adobe Capture: “Just tap your mobile device screen to transform the things you see into creative building blocks for all your designs.”
Adobe Illustrator Draw: “Create beautiful free-form vector designs on your mobile device with Illustrator Draw, the app that lets you turn your ideas into production-quality artwork.”
Adobe Photoshop apps: 5 component apps:
• PS Express (also Windows Mobile OS): The mobile companion to Photoshop CC. “Edit files and make collages from your device, Adobe Creative Cloud, Dropbox, Facebook, or Google Photos.”
• Photoshop Fix: “Liquify, heal, lighten, color and adjust your images to perfection — then easily share them across other Adobe Creative Cloud desktop and mobile apps.”
• Photoshop Mix: “Photoshop Mix lets you cut out and combine elements from different images, blend layers and apply looks on your iPhone, iPad or Android device — all compatible with Photoshop CC.”
• Lightroom CC for mobile: “Edit, organize, and share images anywhere.”
• Photoshop Sketch: “Photoshop Sketch lets you create expressive drawings anywhere using natural drawing tools like pencils, pens, markers, and watercolor brushes to get all the textures and blending effects you’d get on paper.”
Adobe Premier Clip: “Create and edit amazing videos right on your mobile device with Adobe Premiere Clip. Then send your work to Premiere Pro CC on your desktop to refine it.”
Adobe Scan: “The free scan app with text recognition superpowers. Use your phone or tablet to capture images and transform them into versatile PDFs that speed up work.”
Adobe Spark (iOS only): 3 component apps — Post, Page, and Video.
• Post: “Create stunning graphics — in seconds.”
• Page: “Turn words and images into beautiful, magazine-style web stories — in minutes.”
• Video: “Create compelling video stories — in minutes.”
Since this is dinnertime, we’ll have pizza available.
The meeting starts at 6:00. The doors are locked at 6:30; if you arrive and they are locked, knock – there will be someone at the New Horizons front desk and they will let you in.
About the presenter
Bob Mathews works as Director of Training for a company that produces math equation-writing software. He is always looking to learn more about Adobe products. He believes the way most people learn a product best is by learning a little bit, then learn more by using the product. That’s the reason for this session on mobile apps — let’s learn enough at the meeting to get started with mobile apps, then by using them you’re on your way to becoming an expert.
