What?
Presenter Tammy will lead you through an digital illustration project – a finished page for a children’s book illustration project.

Who is this for?
This will be a presentation for intermediate-level Illustrator designers, those interested in pursuing digital illustration, or anyone wanting to get more comfortable creating their own digital content for their design projects. Especially for creatives who enjoy watching someone else go through their creative process.

Since this is an evening meeting, we’ll have pizza available.

About the presenter

Tammy is going back to her roots for this presentation. She has been working as a mobile app and web designer for the past 9 years — mostly as the UI / Visual Designer, but lately, creating websites from scratch in WordPress & WooCommerce.

After college, she enjoyed a career in science as a chemist, science writer / editor, and educator. When she went with her son to bookstores, she found herself drawn to children’s book illustration. She began pursuing it as a hobby when she joined the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

She has done illustrations and design for books and eLearning for educational publishers. She also worked as an Art Director of Science Content on an interactive animation & video MCAT project. Later in her career as a designer, the majority of her positions were for mobile apps and web design. Returning to doing illustrations in Illustrator is just pure fun & play. She finds if she approaches any challenge with a sense of playfulness, she enjoys the process so much more and comes up with better solutions.
