A thorough walkthrough of the Actions workflow in Adobe Illustrator which will demonstrate, step by step, all you need to know about putting Actions to work for you in your next project which requires batch-processing. We will go over basic action creation and dive straight into the details of the batch process. By the end of this presentation, you will become familiar with all of the settings inside the cryptic Batch dialog, and become a knowledgeable in the usage of:

  • Creating actions
  • Processing folders of files
  • Processing variable datasets
  • Using custom scripts inside of a batch process
This presentation will be supplied with demonstration files (available here; 500 MB zip file) for a hands-on educational experience, anyone who has a version of Adobe Illustrator installed on a laptop is encouraged to bring your device for a rewarding session of follow-along fun!

About the presenter:
Vasily Hall (LinkedIn profile) is a Dallas-area Adobe Illustrator user and graphic arts workflow automation professional. Since picking up Adobe ExtendScript at his first production art job 4 years ago, he has been steadily learning and growing clients in North Texas, as well as nationally, with custom graphics workflow scripting services. Vasily’s greatest reward is seeing the positive results of his work in the impact on occupational lives of creative professionals, and he believes that there is no true failure in mistakes, unless it is a failure to learn.
